FAQs
Why Single Project PI ?
Single Project PI provides certainty of coverage for up to 10 years with a dedicated limit of indemnity for the project. The coverage can be designed to provide indemnity for all professional parties associated with a project under the one policy.
If reliance were placed on annually renewable policies, the project owner would need to check that the policies have in fact been renewed, with little ability to enforce renewal once the project is complete and the contractor has paid. The annual limit of indemnity would apply across a range of projects and could be eroded (or exhausted) by claims from other projects.
Can we still gain any benefit from the consultants' own annual PI Policies ?
The annual PI cover carried by the consultants engaged on the project can still be used to good effect within the structure of a Single Project PI programme.
Does Single Project PI dovetail with other insurances?
Yes, to achieve maximum cost benefits the Single Project PI policy is tailored to avoid any duplication or overlap of cover with the other policies bought in connection with the project.
Who can be insured?
We can arrange for inclusion of all parties that provide professional services in conjunction with the project. This could include the head contractor and its sub contractors and sub consultants.
Claims against the principal by third parties, arising out of the professional activities of the head contractor and its sub contractors and sub consultants can also be covered via a principal's indemnity extension.
Can you provide cover anywhere in the world and for any construction and engineering project?
Yes, other than USA.
Can the policy be issued on a insurance or reinsurance basis?
Yes.
