The issues surrounding piracy continue to be of huge concern for all ship owners and operators having to navigate through the Gulf of Aden, with many believing they are protected against the threat of piracy under their current insurance provision.

However, as the number of reported incidents continues to rise, so does the realisation that many operators have inadequate insurance cover which could potentially leave them exposed to uninsured losses. It is also becoming apparent that there is little or no crisis management process in place to respond as quickly as possible should a piracy incident occur.

To ensure that the appropriate cover and response is in place, JLT have put together a comprehensive stress test process that reviews both your overall state of preparedness and your current insurance arrangements in the event of a piracy incident and for a limited period this stress test is available free of charge.
