Richard Harvey joins Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group as a

Non Executive Director

 

18th December 2009, London: Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Harvey as a Non Executive Director with effect from 17^th December, 2009.

Richard has enjoyed a long and successful career in the insurance industry principally with Norwich Union where he was Chief Executive from 1998 to 2000 and subsequently with Aviva plc where he was Group Chief Executive from 2001 to 2007.  Richard was Chair of the Association of British Insurers from 2003-2005.

Richard has also recently been appointed a Non Executive Director and Chairman Elect of PZCussons plc.

"We are delighted to welcome Richard to the JLT Board.  He has been a leading figure in the insurance industry both in the UK and internationally for many years.  His experience both in insurance and as CEO of a major multi-national business will be of enormous value to us".

For 12 months after retiring from Aviva, Richard worked in Africa with the development charity Concern Universal amongst some of the world's poorest people. Since his return Richard has continued to work part time for the charity, for the Africa Progress Panel and for the IFC arm of the World Bank.
