Health Check

Policy 'health checks' consider exposures to stakeholders, regulators, environmental agencies or the general public. JLT's Financial Institutions team, which contains fund management insurance specialists have developed a comprehensive and free 'health check' process.

The key aspects of the 'health check' include:

  • The health check is completely free and confidential
  • It provides a benchmark without impacting existing broker or insurer relationships
  • It supports good corporate governance
  • Very little input is required by the manager - we only require a copy of the latest policy wording and copy of the latest underwriting submission
  • Without huge numbers of claims, policies are tested when a significant event occurs - too late to correct any deficiencies
  • Having carried out this exercise for some time we have identified that 65% of policies checked have significant defects.
