28th July 2010, London: JLT Benefit Solutions, whose combined businesses make it one of the four largest employee benefits consultancies in the UK, today confirmed the appointment of Mark Wood as non-executive Chairman, effective 1 August 2010.
Duncan Howorth, CEO, JLT Benefit Solutions, said: "We are delighted that Mark has decided to join us as and see this as an endorsement of our strong position in the market. He is a hugely well-known and well-respected figure in our industry and his wealth of experience and knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to develop new, innovative client focused solutions and grow our client base both here in the UK and abroad."
JLT Employee Benefits' businesses provide services to approximately 2,500 Pensions Schemes with in excess of 7 million scheme members. Currently employee benefits accounts for around 15 per cent of JLT Group revenues and with plans for it to become an increasingly important part of the Group. Assisting the realisation of JLT's growth plans for its employee benefits business will be a key role for Mr Wood. As the move from Defined Benefit to Defined Contribution increases the onus on individuals to engage with and take ownership of pension planning, the key areas of wealth management, discretionary fund management and leading-edge technology solutions for clients have been targeted as strategic priorities for future growth.
Mark Wood, Non-Executive Chairman, JLT Benefit Solutions, added: "JLT Benefit Solutions is an organisation uniquely prepared for the future. The comprehensive range of expertise and client focused services and products means that JLT is well equipped to assist clients in what is a rapidly changing environment. I look forward to helping the Company continue its impressive growth."
