JLT Benefit Solutions appointed to assist with forthcoming

manager searches for the Merseyside Pension Fund

 

26th January 2010, London:  The Merseyside Pension Fund has again appointed JLT Benefit Solutions (JLT) to assist them in forthcoming manager searches for three separate Far East mandates, using the JLT SWIM (Search Work on Investment Managers) service.

This service, which is run by JLT's Investment Consultancy team, provides a full manager search service for public sector funds, from the initial OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) notice through to appointment and implementation of the mandate change.

The appointment to assist Wirral Borough Council, as the administering authority for the £4bn Pension Fund, follows on from a successful European (ex UK) Equity search conducted for the Merseyside Pension Fund by the then HSBC Actuaries and Consultants Limited (HACL) in 2009 following the same process.

This announcement also proves that for their clients, it is very much "business as usual" following the acquisition of HACL by JLT at the beginning of December 2009.

Mr Peter Wallach, Head of Pensions for the Merseyside Pension Fund said: "We are delighted to be working with the JLT investment team again on this project.
