JLT Achieves the Fastest Claim Settlement on a Major Loss

At JLT Aerospace, we pride ourselves on our superior claims service.  Over the years, our claims professionals have successfully handled claims following some of the most complex and high-profile events in the industry. 

Examples include the devastating Concorde loss in 2000 that claimed the lives of 113 people and led to complex negotiations involving a large number of parties.

We were also involved in handling one of the largest hull losses in the market that occurred in Toronto in 2005.  JLT Aerospace demonstrated our negotiating skills by achieving 100% recovery within 14 days.  Our proactive approach to claims management enabled us to meet the challenging schedule of settlement demanded by the client and their finance providers.

The tragic loss of Airbus 330 that occurred on 1 June 2009 has tested our claims handling skills to the limit.  To assist the client and the bereaved families of the crash victims in dealing with the aftermath of the tragedy, JLT Aerospace put together a rapid response team involving our most senior and experienced professionals as soon as the news of the incident began to emerge. 

On 2 June, we held a meeting with the client and their insurers that resulted in a USD25m fund to help the victims' families.  Within 5 working days of the disaster, the hull claim (over USD100m) was paid in full, the fastest hull claim settlement achieved on a major incident in the history of aviation insurance.  JLT Aerospace received a written commendation from the client who was delighted with the way we handled this emotionally and technically complex loss.
