Formation of JLT Risk Solutions Ltd Group History Stock Exchange Announcement - 29th October 1998

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc announces that with effect from 1st January 1999, its London market insurance and reinsurance operations, Lloyd Thompson Limited and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Reinsurance Limited, will be merged, subject to Lloyd's approval, to form JLT Risk Solutions Limited.

John Lloyd, currently Chairman of both companies, will be Chairman of the merged company. Dominic Collins and Micky Brookman, the Chief Executives respectively of Lloyd Thompson Limited and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Reinsurance Limited, will be appointed Deputy Chairmen.

Steve McGill, currently deputy Chairman of Lloyd Thompson Limited, will be appointed Chief Executive of the new entity and will continue as Chairman of the Group's operations in Asia.

The management structure of the overseas operations of the Group is unaffected by this change.

Commenting on this move, Ken Carter, Chief Executive of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group said:-
