Vyvienne Wade joined JIB Group in 1987 as Group Legal Adviser. A barrister and member of the Inner Temple, she has been Group Legal Director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc since 1997 and is a member of the Group Executive Committee. She was appointed a director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc in January 2002.

Paul has executive responsibility for JLT’s insurance management business in the Americas and is based in Bermuda where he has lived for over 20 years. He has worked in the insurance industry for 28 years, including more than 20 years in the field of alternative risk financing and captives. Prior to joining JLT in 2000, Paul was President of International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. where he was responsible for providing management services to more than 70 captives and other insurance/reinsurance entities. He originally came to Bermuda with Johnson & Higgins (Bermuda) Ltd. where he was involved in captive management and consulting as well as other alternative risk financing activities.
Paul was born and educated in Northern Ireland where he commenced his career as an insurance broker with Willis. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and has been involved in various industry and community activities in Bermuda including the executive committee of the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association and the education committee of the Bermuda Insurance Institute. Now a Bermudian, Paul has demonstrated his long-term commitment to a career in Bermuda.

Steve Arrowsmith

Steve is Deputy Chairman of JLT’s insurance management operations in the Americas specifically focused on business development. He has more than 16 years insurance, accounting and management experience in both the Bermuda and London insurance markets.
Steve was educated in England and gained an honours degree in civil engineering from Leeds University. He then trained and qualified as an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, London specializing in the insurance industry. Upon relocating to Bermuda, Steve joined International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. where he held a senior management position providing client management and accounting services to over 70 captives and other insurance/reinsurance companies.

Kilian Whelan

Kilian leads JLT’s insurance management and consulting office in Bermuda. He brings over 12 years of experience in the insurance industry both in Bermuda and, previously, Dublin, Ireland. With a team of over 20 people, Kilian is responsible for JLT’s delivery of all management and consulting services in Bermuda. His portfolio of clients now comprises some 50 companies under management generating over US$1.2BN of annual written premiums. Like all JLT senior managers he retains significant daily involvement in the management of individual client relationships and personally is involved in the provision of consulting services.
Kilian was educated in Ireland and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (F.C.C.A.). He has been in Bermuda for over 10 years having previously served as Vice President of Client Management & Accounting Services at International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd.

Richard Lowther

Richard is responsible for JLT’s management and consulting operations in the convergence space bridging the worlds of insurance and capital markets. He has been with JLT since 2000, having previously worked for Marsh Management Ltd. in Bermuda. He has ten years experience in the Bermuda insurance market. While at JLT he has developed extensive experience in dealing with ‘risk transformers’ and other similar vehicles straddling the divide between traditional insurance and capital markets. Given JLT’s view that this convergence business will become significantly more important in the short-medium term and beyond, Richard’s role is extremely important to the future of our business in Bermuda.
Richard was educated in Canada and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and carries the CA designation.

Beverley Todd

Beverley has operational responsibility for JLT's captive and insurance management operations in Bermuda, specifically focused on the provision of services to the larger 'Fortune 500' client base for which JLT is well known. She has been in Bermuda for over 14 years working at International Risk Management (Bermuda) Ltd. prior to joining JLT in 2000. Beverley has particularly extensive experience in managing captive insurance companies for major pharmaceutical and insurance companies.
Beverley was educated in England and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (Honours) obtained at South Bank University in London. She also holds the designation of Chartered Management Accountant (A.C.M.A.) and is in the advanced stages of completing her Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (C.P.C.U.) qualification.

Nick Wild FCII

Nick is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute by examination and is a past Chairman of the Guernsey Insurance Company Management Association.
He has twenty-seven years experience in the insurance industry the last twenty having been spent creating and managing captives. He has held the senior management position within two captive management operations in Guernsey with overall responsibility for the creation and management of 60 captives including six Protected Cell Companies. He has also had executive responsibilities for other captive management operations in Dublin and Malta. He has sat on the boards of over twenty five captive insurance companies covering a diverse range of businesses and has worked on captive projects for parent companies from a wide geographic spread.

David Bartoli

Before returning to Malta in 1983 as a qualified Chartered Accountant, David Bartoli spent 7 years studying in the UK. Whilst in England, he completed his formal education, received training from Royal Sun Alliance and gained his accountancy training from a firm of Chartered Accountants. Since his return to the family business of C & H Bartoli Limited, a company that is involved not only in insurance, but also in a variety of other activities strategic to Malta, David has worked as an executive director, and now Managing Director, of Elmo Insurance, and as a director of each company within the Elmo Group. |

Bernard Sze

Bernard joined JLT in March 2001 from his position as Deputy Manager of another major captive manager in Singapore.
He began his career in 1988 as an auditor with Price Waterhouse, joining Johnson & Higgins in 1991 and involved in setting up a new captive division in Singapore.
Bernard has since been involved in the management of at least 30 large captives in Singapore, including the majority of Australian owned captives, over the past 16 years. He is also instrumental in the setting up of more than 10 new captives, and is involved heavily in the captive feasibility studies and license applications. He currently sits on a number of the captives’ Board of Directors and also acts as principal officers to the MAS for all the JLT managed captives.
